KEEPERS OF THE TRAILS

As a non-profit, we have lots of volunteer opportunities — from adopting a trail segment for regular maintenance, to helping with scheduled trail work days, or teaching new rider biking skills as a part of our community classes program. There are endless ways to become a part of our volunteer family.
We are Keepers of the Trails!

Adopt a Trail

Adopting a segment of trail to maintain through Trailblazers is THE BEST way to give back to the community. It’s fun and easy, and done on your schedule. Just fill out the application and select your segment, complete the waiver and we’ll get the ball rolling!

Have questions? Feel free to just drop us a line, we’re happy to answer any question you may have! Volunteer@WeAreTrailblazers.org

Community Classes

Trailblazers offers opportunities to educate and inspire the Northwest Arkansas Community by offering free or low-cost bike educational classes such as Adult First Ride, Confident Communting, and Introduction to Bike Maintenance. Our goal is to help people move through trails, paths and roadways safely and with confidence.
We’re actively looking for volunteer leaders to facilitate these amazing classes for our communities in Northwest Arkansas.

Other Ways to Support

Donate through Trail Care based on your miles ridden.
Simply connect your Strava account, and each time you complete a ride in our area you’ll be notified via email asking if you’d like to complete your donation! Set your own $/mile amount, change it any time, opt out or in as you wish, and you’ll never be charged a donation amount without your permission. Trailblazers is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and all donations are tax deductible. You’ll receive monthly receipts to keep track of your contributions.

Make an In-Kind Donation.
We welcome donations of rakes, wheelbarrows, bug spray, loppers, gas cans, weed eaters and other light tools and equipment needed to keep our trails maintained. Please reach out to Volunteer@WeAreTrailblazers.org if you’d like more info.

Sponsor a Trail Workday.
We host many trail workdays throughout the year. There are usually 10-20 participants, and sponsors cover items like snacks, drinks and food. Please reach out to Volunteer@WeAreTrailblazers.org if you’d like more info.

Drink Beer! No, Really!

A portion of sales from Bike Rack’s Trailblazers Lite Beer is donated back to our organization. See you at the bar!

Make a Direct Donation. It’s Tax Deductible!

Hey volunteers, log your hours!

Make sure to log all of the work that you complete on the trails! It helps us keep track of our impact. Once you follow the link, you can also save the log to your phone’s home screen so you can go straight there each time.

How to Report Trail Conditions

The trails of Oz feature some of the best riding, running and hiking in the world! But what do you do when you spot a downed tree, massive rutting or other issue on the trails? Report it on the Trailforks app! These reports go directly to our team so we can ensure a speedy and professional fix.

1. Download the FREE TRAILFORKS APP and open it up
2. Click the yellow box with the arrow
3. Select "Write Report"
4. Make sure the trail you're on is selected
5. Set the status to either minor, significant or closed/major depending on how serious the problem is
6. Write a brief description of what you see
7. Upload a photo (this is really helpful on our end)
8. Make sure that your GPS location is saved and the report is not set to private
9. Hit Submit!

To learn more about reporting from a desktop computer when you're at home, check out the Trailforks blog.

If you’d prefer to email us, please include GPS Coordinates and a photo for any trail issues. Volunteer@WeAreTrailblazers.org
